Xiang Lotus Nut

Xiang Lotus Nut

DATE:21-07-2011
Lotus nuts produced at Xiangtan are well known as "Xiang lotus nut". "Three-inch white lotus nuts" produced here were "tribute lotus nuts" presented to the emperor. It is recorded in Xiangtan County Annals that "lotus nuts available on the market are produced at Yangtang in the western part of the county". "Tribute lotus nuts" of Yangtang are just the so-called "three-inch white lotus nuts". They are bigger than lotus nuts produced elsewhere in size. Three nuts placed in series can be one inch long.
