Mohei
Town of Mojiang County is known historically for its salt production.
In the
3rd year (1725) of Yongzheng Period in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), salt mines
began to be massively exploited and Mohei Town became an important town in the
southern frontier of Yunnan Province. The Ancient Tea-Horse Trail, ancient
architectures and daks all witnessed the vicissitudes of Mohei. Mohei is also
hometown of many a celebrity including Ms. Yang Likun (1942-2000) who is
reputed actress starring in ethnic movies named "Ah Shi Ma" and "The Five
Golden Flowers" etc.
