Zhaotong, An Oasis In Northeast Yunnan

Zhaotong, An Oasis In Northeast Yunnan

Located on the northern part of Yunnan and being a historic fort, Zhaotong is
the earliest developed area in Yunnan. Many relics, ruins and steles left behind
since the ancient times proved that Zhaotong has enjoyed a long history and
profound culture. It is a base for researching and exploring the ancient and
modern cultures of Yunnan, abounding in rich resources for ethnic culture-oriented
tourism. In the lofty Wumeng Mountain, varied waterfalls and lush forests are
integrated into a unity, picturesque, intoxicating and beckoning.
Zhaotong is an oasis on the plateau of Northeast Yunnan, full of life in the four
seasons of the year. Main tourist sites of Zhaotong include Huanglian River
Waterfalls and Daoshanbao Black-necked Crane Nature Reserve etc.
