Most
of the residences in Zhoucheng are designed in Bai traditional style:
compounds
of Houses on Three Sides and a Screen Wall in the East. Being wood-earth structure
with delicate carvings and flying eaves, these houses look extraordinarily beautiful and
compact, and embody the ethnic characteristics of the Bai People.

Zhoucheng
has enjoyed a broad fame for its traditional Bandhnu (tie-dying) craft
that
can date back to the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. Integrating
ethnic culture and art, Bai Bandhnu appears modern as well.
