Yunnan Military Institute

The former site of Yunnan Military Academy e is located on Cuihuxi Road,
adjacent to Yunnan Provincial Agricultural Exhibition Hall and the Provincial
 Library. Besides being a cultural relic unit under state protection, the
Institute also functions as a museum. As one of the earliest military
 institutes in China, it was originally established in the late Qing
Dynasty for training modern military officers. Opened in 1909 and closed
 in 1928, Yunnan Military Academy totally enrolled and cultivated 19
batches of elites in four departments: infantry, cavalry, artillery,
and engineer.

Travel tips:
1-The former site of Yunnan Military Academy is located in the Green
Lake Park Area, downtown of Kunming;
2-The museum is admission-free;
