Ancient Dian Tombs In Shizhanshan
The ancient tombs of the Dian Kingdom
were discovered in Shizhaishan
Village on the east shore of the Lake Dian, Shangsuan Township of
Jinning County. These tombs cover in all about 5,000 square meters.

In the five excavations from 1955 to
1996, archeologists unearthed,
in 50 royal tombs that can date back to the Warring States Period
(475 A.D- 221 A.D) and West Han Dynasty (206 A.D-23 B.C), more than
5,000 objects (mainly bronzewares) extensively including daily utensils,
production tools, weapons, drums, shell (money)-containers and so on.

The Seal And The Dian Kingdom
During the excavations conducted between November 1956 and January 1957,
a golden imperial seal of the ancient Dian Kingdom was unearthed from
the No. 6 Tomb, providing evidence of the Dian Kingdom described in
《Shi Ji》(Historical Records) by Sima Qian, a renowned historian in
the West Han Dynasty (206 A.D-23 B.C)
