Gushan Mt In Fuxian Lake

Gushan Mt In Fuxian Lake

Gushan Mt or “Isolated Mountain” lies in the Fuxian Lake of Chengjiang
County. It was formerly called "Yinghai Mountain" that was linked to an
isle beside by an iron rope bridge before the Ming Dynasty. In the late
Ming Dynasty, the isle was submerged during an earthquake, leaving only
Gushan Mt standing in the lake even today.
There used to be eight halls, five pavilions, three gloriettes and other
architectures on Gushan Mt. In 1988 when Gushan Mt was developed into a
tourist spot, special funds were appropriated to restore these architectures.
And as the submarine cable system was put into operation in 1933, Gushan
Mt became illuminated all night long, attracting numerous visitors.
