Benzilan Town
Benzilan
in Tibetan means "a golden sandbar". With mild weather conditions,
Benzilan is a place of fertility. Seated on the Yunnan-Tibet Road, it used to be
an important stop on the Ancient Tea-Horse Trail (Road) from Yunnan to Tibet.
Nowadays, Benzilan has served as the most important stop for travel groups
and caravans to get supplies to further go across Baimang Snow Mountain.
Benzilan is famous for its local handicrafts such as Zanba Box (Zan Ba He.
Zanba is a kind of Tibetan food made from highland barley) and wooden bowels
etc. Nearby tourist sites include Gadan•Dongzhulin Monastery and the viewing
stand for the Great Bend of the Jinsha River etc.

Fulong Bridge
Situated at the border between Yunnan and Sichuan provinces, Fulong
(Vanquishing the Dragon) Bridge is a suspension bridge constructed over the
Jinsha River. It is 113.4 meters long, 5 meters wide and was put into use
in 1959.
