Liling Official Kiln for Red Porcelain
Liling is China's porcelain capital, where ceramic production has lasted for nearly two thousand years. As early as in the Eastern Han period, large-scale ceramic workshops appeared here. In the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu (1908), Xiong Xiling, an official of the Qing government, and Wenjun Duo, a native of the county, founded "Hunan Government Porcelain School" and "Hunan Porcelain Company" in the northern part of the city, formally creating the world-famous under-glaze colorful porcelain. It is as white as jade, as thin as paper, as bright as mirror, and sounds perfect, and has been selected as state special porcelain and state gift porcelain, so Liling kiln is also known as "Official Kiln for Red Porcelain", which shows the intelligence and wisdom of porcelain artists, as well as unique technology and endless artistic charm of under-glaze colorful porcelain.
