Introduction of Hainan Tunchang

Tunchang County is located towards the north of the middle of Hainan, situated at 19°08′to 19°31′N latitude and　109°45′to 110°15′E latitude. It is bordering Anding and Qionghai in the east, Qiongzhong in the south, Chengmai in the northwest, and its north is 85 km away from the centre of Haikou-capital of Hainan. Tunchang County is the throat area from Qiongbei terrace to Wuzhishan Mountain. The county seat is located in the centre of Tunchang, at the place of 86 km along Haiyu mid-line highway. It’s the communication hub of Hainan, connecting south and north, crossing east and west. It’s 55 km long from south to north and 52 km wide from east to west. The area is 1231．5, accounting for 3.6% of the land area of Hainan. Tunchang County is a hilly area, with higher south and lower north, and mountain land in east and west. The mountain land accounts for 5% of the whole area of the county, hills account for 85% and others account for 10%.

Tunchang County is located in the middle section of national highway - Haiyu Mid-line, situated at the north of the foot of Wuzhishan Mountain. Jinjuling is the highest peak in Tunchang County.

Traffic Information

Road:Tunchang County belongs to inland county, which is the communication hub of the middle of Hainan. The communication mainly depends on efficient highway links, of which the national highway and provincial highway are through the whole county. Hai-Yu mid-line highway is through Tunchang from south to north (224 national highway), of which is 55 km long, only 56 km away from Haikou in the north, extending to Qiongzhong, Wuzhishan, Sanya and each town in the south, and 40 km away to Huangzhu Town of Anding County in the east reaching east-line freeway. There are 5 provincial highways, of which the length is 71.5km. The highways from the county seat to each town have been hardened, the whole length is 911.36km. Buses are available in each village.

Season Features: Tunchang County belongs to tropical monsoon climate. The climate of the four seasons doesn’t change much. The summer is long and there is no winter. The temperature is high and there is lots of rainwater. It has distinctive arid and humid seasons. The time of sunlight during a day is long.
