Introduction of Hainan Changjiang


Changjiang County is in the northwest of Hainan, including 8 villages and towns. The county has Shilu Iron Mine, Bawang Hill Forest Bureau, and Honglin Farm. The land area of the county is 1596 sq.km. The coastline is 52km, and the sea area is 336.47 sq.km. The county has a typical monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 24.3 degrees Celsius. It’s always spring in Changjiang, with no winter all year round. It’s full of sunshine. The annual rainfall is 1676 mm.

Traffic Information
Train: East circular railway will be put into use by the end of this year, and the west circular railway will be put into use next year, which will shorten the time to travel from Changjiang to Haikou to only 35 minutes.

Shipping: The county has 4 harbors, which are Changhua Harbor, Haiwei Harbor, Xin Harbor, Shayutang Harbor. Changhua Harbor is mainly a commercial harbor. Changhua fishing ground is a natural fishing ground, and one of the biggest fishing grounds in South China.

Road: Changjiang’s land traffic is very convenient. It is 190km from Haikou, 210km from Sanya, 100km from Yangpu Port, 40km from Basuo Port (all the way on highway). The raods connect every part of the county, and most villages and towns have roads now.

Bus:Changjiang County’s public transportation system is advanced, with 10 deluxe buses in the downtown area. There are also more than 30 buses connecting different towns and scenic spots.

Taxi: The county has two taxi companies.
 
Travel Tips
Season Features: It’s always spring in Changjiang, and there’s no obvious difference between seasons, except for some rains and typhoons between June and September. The peak tourism period is around the Spring Festival. The best time for tourism is November to the March of next year.

Travel Taboo: When people from the Li ethnic group hangs tree leaves upside down, it means accident death, childbirth, alcohol brewing, and no strangers should enter or greet them.

Special Information: Changjiang has abundant sea food as it is by the sea. There are also a lot of fruits, such as coconuts, mangos, water melons, bananas, dates, pineapples, and cherry tomatoes.
