Dawuliang Singing Party is a kind of singing party held by the people of Dong ethnic group in some parts of Dong Autonomous County in Hunan Province. It is held in every April. It is usually held 18 days before the Beginning of Summer of lunar calendar, and lasts for three days.
Dawuliang is a place name, and in Dong language it is called "Liangmeng". The scenery here is really picturesque. During the singing party period, the people of Dong, Miao, Zhuang, Yao and Han nationalities from neighboring Guangxi, Guizhou and other regions also go up to Daxuliang in groups to participate in the party. Every time at least several thousands of people will attend the party, and sometimes the number of such people will be tens of thousands. The huge crowds of people make the party exceptionally hilarious. The young men and maidens sometimes sit on the ground singing, and sometimes stand there singing. The subject matters of lyrics are very extensive, and the songs are clear, crisp and melodious.
