In honor of the 100th anniversary of the 1911 (Xinhai) Revolution that ended imperial rule in China, an embroidered portrait of the leader of the revolution Sun Yat-sen, 60 cm long and 40 cm wide, was exhibited at the Hunan Embroidery City in Xingsha, Hunan on Oct. 8.
At the display, an elder man recalled the stories in the 1911 Revolution while appreciating the embroidery work.
It took more than eight months to complete the work with Hunan's distinct embroidery techniques and the embroidered portrait succeeded in displaying the great forerunner's air of solemnity.
