Loudi

Located in the central Hunan Province, Loudi is skirted by mountains and waters, presenting picturesque landscape. The time-honored history, splendid Hunan culture and Meishan culture have given birth to Loudi’s historical and cultural sites. Today, Loudi, known as the “capital of antimony in the world”, the “100-mile Coal Sea”, and the “10-mile Iron City”, is showing its brilliant glamour with the rising industrial tourism.
Dacheng Mountain—Boyue Cave scenery area

Located in Heqing Town, south suburb of Lengshuijiang City, the Mountain is a summer vacation tourist resort with Grand Mountain, steep topography, lifting rock and dense trees. You will find unique cliffs, valleys, waterfalls, rock forest and rock sea here. Boyue Cave is located in Baiyang Village, Tongxing Town of Lengshuijiang City in the north suburb, more than 5000 meters in length with a total area of about 40,000 square meters.
Meishan Dragon Palace
Situated in Xinhua County, the Meishan Dragon Palace consists of a cluster of queer underground Karst caves. Hence it is known as the “most beautiful geological museum in Asia”, which is composed of five marvels of all the Karst caves in the world: “Clouds and Sky in the Cave”, “Birth of Nezha”, “Rimes in the Heavenly Palace”, “Golden Mountain in Water”, “Treasure Contained in Treasure”, making visitors gasp in admiration.
Ziquejie Qinren Terraced Fields
Situated in Shuiche Town, Xinhua County, Loudi, the terraced fields cover an area of nearly 40 square meters. With no pond, reservoir or other water storage facilities in the terraced fields, the fields are irrigated by natural running water. The water amidst fields runs all the year round which is a marvel in the world.
Ziquejie terraced fields, with a history of 2,000 years, are the mutual achievements of the Miao, Yao, Dong, Han and other ethnic groups. These terraced fields, which witnessed the integration of fishing and hunting culture in mountains and rice cultivation culture. They are prominent marking cultural landscape of Gumei mountainous region, and also the tourist treasure yet to be explored.  
  
Behind Ziquejie, there is a 10,000mu honeysuckle base, as well as relics of 48 Yao Villages and other human landscapes. Survey shows that these terraced fields have a history of over 2,000 years. They are the great achievements of material civilization that are mutually created by Miao, Yao, Dong, Han and other ethnic groups, generation by generation. They are the historical records of the integration of rice cultivation culture in south China with fishing and hunting culture in mountainous regions of the Miao and Yao ethnic groups, and also a prominent marking cultural landscape in Meishan. Such scale, quantity and good shapes of terraced fields are rarely seen in other places of Hunan province and even China. The unique farming methods and the natural spring irrigation system are very special in rice cultivation culture.
Zeng Guofan's Former Residence
Zeng Guofan (1811-1872), an important official in the Qing Dynasty, is “the First Person to Launch Self-Strengthening Movement”, and also the representative figure of Hu-xiang culture. His contributions, moral composition, ideas, as well as his self-cultivation, household management, scholarship, commanding of troops, and management of state affairs have significant influence over and inspire later generations. When Mao Zedong was young he said, “Among all modern men, I only admire Zeng Guofan”.

Zeng Guofan's Former Residence includes Fuhou Hall, Baiyu Hall, Dejian Building, Wanyi Hall, Huangjin Hall, Dafu Mansion, Zeng’s Ancestral Temple and Zeng’s Ancestral Grave, covering an area of 100km2. It is being built into a national 4A Scenic Sport full of culture atmosphere, and with unique building styles, sound reception facilities and comfortable environment.

Fuhou Hall, the Key Cultural Relic Sites under the Protection of National Government, is the only “Marquis Residence in Rural Area” that is well preserved. Baiyu Hall is the place where Zeng Guofan was born, and also the former residence of Zeng Guangqi, famous chemist of China. Wanyi Hall, built after Xiushan Hall by his older younger brother Zeng Guohuang in 1873, is a majestic mansion, featuring the building style of the Ming Dynasty. Dafu Mansion is the former residence of Zeng Xianzhi, vice chairperson of All China Women’s Federation, Zeng Xiankai, historian of Qing Dynasty History and professor of Renmin University of China, as well as Zeng Houxi, famous painter of Traditional Chinese Painting.
