Kuzhudong Yao Ethnic Village

Kuzhudong Yao Ethnic Village

Kuzhudong is a Yao ethnic village in Jinping County in the south of Yunnan. The village is composed of 86 families (about 400 villagers).
The nearest town to the village is Laomeng (40 km). To get access to the village, you have to "survive" the rough and rugged roads by driving for at least three hours. But shooting for something in the village is promising, especially for those who are perhaps photographers. You don't have to understand or speak the ethnic dialect of the Yao. Simple words and amicable gestures are very helpful because the locals here are hospitable and unsophisticated. Normally, they are happy to get dressed for the lens.
Laomeng Town geographically links Yuanyang, Lvchun and Jingping counties of Honghe Prefecture. There are such native minorities as the Miao, Yao, Dai, Hani and Yi, accounting for 97% of the total population of Laomeng.
