Mingxing Fishing Cave Scenic Area
Located
on the west shore of Fuxian Lake, Mingxing Fishing Cave Scenic Area
is a state 2A-level tourist site. This area was famous due to the fishing methods
of the local people. There is a kind of fish locally called “anti-wave fish”
(Schizothorax taliensis). It swims against current to the caves around the lake
shores. Local fishermen discovered this unique habit of the fish and dug ditches
to attract and catch fish by drawing water using waterwheels.
