The World Butterfly Eco Garden (The Dwarf Empire)

The World Butterfly Eco Garden

(The Dwarf Empire)

The World Butterfly Eco
Garden (the Dwarf Empire)
 is situated in Jiaomu
 Village in the western
 suburb of Kunming.
 Covering more than
5,000 hectares, it is
 the biggest butterfly
 eco garden in the world
 with the vegetation
coverage of 98 percent.
At present, there are in
 all approximately
identified 16,000 species of butterflies in the world, among which China
boasts some 1,758 species. Yunnan Province in Southwest China is called
home to over 700 species of butterflies hence is dubbed as “Hometown of
 Butterflies”.
The Garden, in terms of the climate and flora factors of Kunming, has
introduced from elsewhere 60 percent of the global butterfly species
with the quantity reaching as many as 100 million and the density being
 4~8 per square meter.
The World Butterfly Eco Garden is composed of the Butterfly Garden, the
Dwarf Empire and the Wild Space-time Square.
(1)-The Butterfly Garden
Themed on butterflies, the entire Eco Garden exhibits a density of 4~8
per square meter. In the Butterfly Hall and those “butterfly trees”,
you can witness masses of butterflies. Sometimes the butterflies can be
"led” to a wedding ceremony or specified site in the Garden to form a
 spectacular view.
(2)-The Dwarf Empire
As a peculiar realm, the Dwarf Empire is inhabited by about 100 dwarfs
who are shorter than 100 cm. What makes them different is that they
strive to exploit their minds to develop farming (growing flowers,
vegetables), raising dogs and running restaurants etc.
Travel tips
