Mohei Old Town Of Mojiang

Mohei Town of Mojiang County is known historically for its salt production. In the
3rd year (1725) of Yongzheng Period in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), salt mines
began to be massively exploited and Mohei Town became an important town in the
southern frontier of Yunnan Province. The Ancient Tea-Horse Trail, ancient
architectures and daks all witnessed the vicissitudes of Mohei. Mohei is also
hometown of many a celebrity including Ms. Yang Likun (1942-2000) who is
reputed actress starring in ethnic movies named "Ah Shi Ma" and "The Five
 Golden Flowers" etc.
In the late Qing Dynasty and even the Public of China, Mohei had become the
political, economic and cultural center in Simao (Pu'er) Area. A visit to Mohei
Town will make one experience its long-standing history and a host of places
 of interest.
