Worshipping ceremony for the Yellow Emperor in Shaanxi
 
    A worshipping ceremony for the Yellow Emperor or Huangdi, legendary progenitor of the Chinese people, is held at the tomb of Yellow Emperor to celebrate the Chongyang Festival, or the Double Ninth Festival, in Huangling County, Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, October 7, 2008. Chongyang Festival is considered a traditional occasion to pay respects to the aged and falls on the ninth day of the ninth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, or Oct. 7 this year.

     The sacrifice ceremony of Xuanyuan Emperor is held in Huangling,Shaanxi province during the double 9th festival,Oct. 7, 2008. The festival is considered a traditional occasion to pay respect to the aged and falls on the ninth day of the ninth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, or Oct. 7 this year.
