Laomiao beef

Laomiao beef

Since the late Ming Dynasty villager Zhang Guangmei in Laomiao village, which lies at the north of Huaxian County, first took up the slaughtering trade and started processing beef; every household engaged in the process. And in the middle of Qing Dynasty the cooking continually improved. Laomiao beef is boiled with as many as 15 kinds of seasonings and the soup stock is set on a charcoal fire. Laomiao beef enjoys a great reputation in China. For 300 years, it has been called “The flower of North Henan”.
