Governor Xu Shousheng and Taiwan Local People Offer Sacrifices to Emperor Yan

Xu Shousheng, governor of Hunan Province, and his delegation came to Gongguan Township, Miaoli County in western Taiwan to offer sacrifices to Emperor Yan together with the local people on June 15.
At 11:40, Governor Xu and Liu Zhenghong, head of Miaoli County and Qiu Xuantang, chairman of the China (Taiwan) Association of Emperor Yan, stood in the front of the Five Cereals Palace on behalf of all of the worshipers to present incense, food offerings and flowers to Emperor Yan at his altar.
Liu Zhenghong said that Hunan is the location of the Mausoleum of Emperor Yan as well as the birth place of Shennong Culture (Culture of Emperor Yan). In Miaoli County, a lot of people embrace Shennong Culture. People believe that Emperor Yan can bless them a good harvest. The government of Miaoli County is willing to enhance communication of Shennong Culture with Hunan government and conduct cooperation in this regard in order to inherit Shennong Spirit and promote Chinese Culture together.
Governor Xu stated that the Mausoleum of Emperor Yan is located in Yanling County, Zhuzhou City of Hunan Province. In recent years, with Shennong Culure as ties, Hunan and Taiwan have conducted more frequent communication and exchange. We have held large-scale cultural festival and rituals of Shennong Culture for two consecutive years. Hunan will continue to enrich and develop the connotation of Shennong Culture and meet the increasing demands of attending the sacrificial ceremony in Hunan.
