At the bottom of the peak, there hides a natural dissolved cavern which is deep and serene. Since the peak named after its form is called Mount Jiguan ( Mount Cockscomb), the cave got its name as the Jiguanshan (Cockscomb mountain) dissolved cavern. As a natural lime dissolved cavern, it has a typical karst landform in geomorphology. Many sights here were formed sixty to seventy thousand years ago. Made up of 8 coterminous scenic spots, the cave is 1,800 meters long with a tourist area of 23,000 square meters. With circuitous paths leading to quiet plots among dense or sparse stalactite forests, the cave is an underground world of splendid statues sculpted by Nature. From lifelike lying Buddha, flying birds and walking beasts to vivid forests of bamboo shoots and curtains, this museum of stalactites is exhibiting remarkable objects challenging the limit of your imagination. The harp-like stone curtains struck slightly by stone pieces will ring crisply, echoing along the long cave. The clear singing cave river winding through the underground cave adds much vitality to the quiet cave. The Jiguan dissolved cavern is highly valuable in archaeology study. Some of the tall stalagmites were formed 184,000 years ago. The interior structures and deposits of various kinds of stalactites reveal rich information on ancient climate, environment, geography, etc. Stone shields and stone lotuses found here are of great value in archaeology and scientific study, their unusual cause of formation, structures, features and forms being peculiar all over the world. With its nickname of “Natural Air Conditioner”, the Jiguan dissolved cavern has a constant temperature of 18 ℃ all through the year, fresh cool air flowing around in summer while warm air embracing visitors in winter. The Jiguan dissolved cavern is made up of 6 na tural halls and one underground river. Stalactites formed in centuries by dropping limewater in various shapes scatter in the halls, creating an artistic palace of natural sculptures. Under colorful lights, their silver sparkles and golden glitters make the cave a resplendent and magnificent fairyland of treasures shining gleamingly in the mist. The gurgling underground river, the vigorous blood of the Jiguan Dissolved cavern, makes the cave lifeful. In the cave, two spots are very impressive. One is named “A kiss once one thousand years” and the other is called “A lasting kiss for one thousand years” which are only several meters away. The former refers to two erect stalactites facing each other closely with only a gap of a couple of centimeters between their tips, one hanging down and the other peaking up. As the water drips, they’ll “kiss” each other, in at least 80 years, according to the experts. The latter refers to a couple-stalactite which partly separated in the middle. Looking like a kissing couple, it is therefore named the “A lasting kiss for one thousand years”. Roaming about in the diverting artistic labyrinth of the Jiguan dissolved cavern, visitors will be deeply moved by these vivid masterpieces of great beauty made by Nature with its amazing and persevering hands with efforts of billions of years.
