China Zhijiang International Peace Culture Festival (Huaihua)

The world shaking victory in the war in Zhijiang on August 21-23, 1945 is an important symbol of victory for Chinese Nation to fight against invasions, and also a historical symbol of victory in anti-fascist struggle in the world. After that, Zhijiang is famous at home and abroad for being the first city of victory. The surrender monument, in the shape of Chinese Character “血” (blood), standing at Qiliqiao in the east of Zhijiang County seat, is the landmark to commemorate the victory of the Second World War. The features of Dong Ethnic Group and the historical opportunity of surrender lead to the development of Zhijiang Peace Culture. To be in line with the trend of peace and world development, carry forward the unique Peace Culture of Zhijiang, warn people staying away from war, and arouse people’s awareness to love peace and treasure peace, China Zhijiang International Peace Culture Festival was held once in two years as approved by Chinese government, so as to enhance the understanding between Zhijiang and the world, and strengthen the friendship between Chinese and people from other places of the world, and advance the course of peace in the world.
