Introduction of Hainan Wenchang

Wenchang City is 40km from Meilan Airport. It has a coastline of 206.07km, a sea area of 4600 sq.km. It has 40 bays of all sizes. The land area is about 285 in circumference. It is 65km from east to west, 99km from south to north, like a crescent. The land covers 2488 sqkm, taking up 7% of the Hainan Island.

Engulfed by sea on three sides, Wenchang has many great bays and beaches. It’s a hometown of Chinese in foreign counties, the town of volleyball, The Town of Coconuts, the town of generals, and the town of the mother of the country.

Wenchang is a coastal resort that combines the tropical sceneries with cultural relics. There are coconut trees, beautiful bays, natural hot springs, world-famous residence of the Song Family, Wenchang chicken, and golf course for all seasons. Road: East-line freeway, Hai-Wen freeway and Hai-Yu east-line (223 national highway) are the main road traffic of east line. The communication of the scenic spots becomes convenient since the around-the-island east line freeway is through. Season Features: Warm in winter, cool in summer.

Travel Taboo: In Hainan area, believers of Zang Zu (Tibet ethnic minority group) are tabooed to eat the yellow cattle beef due to that they believe in Wenchang Deity.

Special Information: Wenchang chicken, Wenchang chicken meal, abalone, echinus, lobster, Baoluo rice noodle, Wenchang soup, various kinds of fruits (coconut, pineapple, jack fruit, wampee, naseberry, and Eugenia javanica Lam).
