Introduction of Hainan Danzhou

It is in the west of Hainan. Danzhou is the only county to receive the laurel of China's Top Tourism City. Because of its cultural heritages, Danzhou is called “Town of Poems”, “Town of Couplets”, “Town of Traditional Arts”, and “Town of Songs and Poems”. It is full of rare resources for tourism such as Eco, culture, hot springs, and coasts. You can find both the natural sceneries and culture in Danzhou. The natural sceneries combine mountains, seas, rivers, lakes, springs and caves. You can find the National Forest Park, the best “3s“（sun, sand and sea）, hot springs, caves, Antiaris Toxicaria which is one of the most poisonous plants in the world, and the oldest salt field in China, which has a history of over 1200 years. The Hainan Tropical Botanical Garden has more than 2000 rare plants from all over the world. People and birds live harmoniously in Bittern Paradise, a heaven of birds.

Best Travel Season: October to the next April.

Destination Climate: Danzhou City is of tropical maritime monsoon climate, neither intense heat of summer nor bitter cold of winter, sufficient sunshine, mild climate, average annual temperature 23.2℃, average temperature in January 16.9℃. It has abundant rainfall but unevenly distributed, rare rainfall in winter and spring, relatively abundant rainfall in summer and autumn, average annual precipitation 1815mm, rainy season from May to October, dry season from November to next April , suffering little and light impact from tropical storm and typhoon.

Destination Notes: Danzhou will hold large activity for Danzhou Toning Festival on August 15th of lunar calendar each year. The beautiful island scenery accompanying with melodious singing and smart dancing must impress you a lot.

 

Traffic Information

Airline: Danzhou Xiqing Airport, initially built in 1980s, is the only civil aerodrome of Danzhou, mainly used for agricultural aircraft operation，tourist sightseeing and training of fly boys.

Shipping: Yangpu Port is the nice natural port, of which the water is deep and gulf is broad, with a cargo handling capacity of 10,000 tons. Other relatively bigger ports include Ganchong, Baimajing，Xinying，Haitou, Paipu, E’man and Shenchong, etc. It’s very convenient for marine transportation, able to reach cities along the coast of China and Southeast Asian countries.

Road: Around-the-island west railway (Naba and Bayi stations are set within Danzhou), around-the-island freeway and Hai-Yu west line highway are the land traffic vitals of Danzhou. There are also 312 highways like Nada to Lanyang highway, Yangpu Shugang highway, forming the highway system from Danzhou to every city and county of the island.

Season Features: No heat in summer, no chill in winter. The difference between seasons is not obvious.

Travel Taboo: Don’take photos in Dongpo College. Comply with the local custom and respect local religious belief.　

Special Information: Unique culture and natural sceneries, Danzhou’s traditional music is melodic and passionate. Snacks and food are also famous.
