HeQuan Lake



  Hequan Lake Ecological Tourism Zone is 2 kilometers northeast of Yongning County, 18 kilometers south of Yinchuan City and 2 kilometers east of Yellow River, with lake area of more than 3,000 acres.
  According to legend, tears of a red-crowned crane turned into six spring mouths long time ago and formed the lake, known as Hequan Lake. The crane also ordered to turn a temple in the west of the lake named Flash God Temple (also known as Shaanxi Temple).The temple attracts a large number of pilgrims who use spring water to cure disease .Because they view the spring as sacred water, meanwhile, Hequan Lake is regarded as God Lake.
  He quan Lake is famous for abundant golden carps. One of the carps weighted 5.2 jin is displaying in China Aquatic Museum. Surrounded by reeds, with green waves glistening on the lake, beautiful scenery and elegant environment, approximately ten species of birds dozens of birds play on the lake surface, fishes and shrimps are swimming freely in the water, which form an unique natural landscape of fortress Lake City. If you drive a boat swing into the reeds, just like entering to a maze,you will have a distinct taste. From 1980s, many films and televisions .have chosen here as their outdoor scene In May 1999, Wang Zhaoguo, a memberof the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, inspected the lake and praised "it is not Baiyangdian, but is better than Baiyangdian Lake".
  At present, Ningxia Baota Petrochemical Group has invested over 30 million in overall planning and construction of tourist spots and recreational projects. Some new projects arebeing developed such as motor boats, boating, fishing, touching fish, water park, farmers courtyard, folk cultural village, yurts, bonfire party, eco-tourist, integrating recreation, catering and accommodation as a whole. Hequan Lake, together with Yongning County Mosque and China Hui Customs Garden, has formed a complete and excellent tour line.
