Du Jiang Met with Zimbabwe Tourism Minister

On April 25, CNTA Vice Chairman Du Jiang met with Zimbabwe Tourism Minister Walter Mzembi, both of whom were in Sanya, Hainan Province to attend the 2014 World Travel & Tourism Conference.

First of all, Du gave a warm welcome to the Zimbabwean delegation headed by Mzembi. He said that China’s coastal city Sanya is quite different from Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls City in landscape, which shows that the tourism resources of the two countries are complementary. Zimbabwe's unique natural scenery and traditional culture are very attractive to Chinese tourists, and the Chinese side hopes to see more advertisement of the Zimbabwean tourism industry in China, Du said. He also appreciated Zimbabwe’s visa facilitation efforts. Du expressed the willingness of the Chinese side to expand the scope of bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and make more contributions to the development of friendly relations between the two countries.

Admiring China’s achievements in tourism development, Mzembi said that Zimbabwe will continue to consolidate and deepen cooperation with China in tourism and carry out more tourism promotion activities in China. At the same time, he expressed the hope that China could provide Zimbabwe with more support and assistance in tourism personnel training as well as in packaging, development and promotion of tourism products, adding that the Zimbabwean government and people welcome Chinese investment in the Zimbabwean tourism sector.
