Wumeng Mt., Lofty Peaks

Wumeng Mt., Lofty Peaks

Major peaks of Wumeng Mountain are located in Zhaotong Municipality,
Northeast Yunnan. Its altitudes range from 2,000 to 2,850 meters above
the sea level. Those counties around the mountain peaks boast of vast
expanses of natural forests and bamboo groves. Wumeng Mountain has won
great fame due to its abundant fauna and flora resources. In spring and
summer, its slopes are blanketed with wild flowers; azaleas and
rhododendrons are booming, and oceans of flowers are just intoxicating.
When autumn comes, the mountain slopes turn red, yellow, green and blue,
bright enough to broaden one’s mind. In winter, all the peaks are
shrouded in immaculate snow, tree branches are draped with icicles,
and everything is veiled in thick mist. These lyric scenes appear
to remind people of the winter views in North China.
