Miyilu, An Yi Custom Valley In Nanhua

Miyilu, An Yi Custom Valley In Nanhua

Miyilu is 6.5 kilometers north of Nanhua County seat, Chuxing Prefecture. Miyilu is said to be the name of a brave, beautiful and smart Yi girl in Nanhua where the Flower Arrangement Festival (Cha Hua Jie) is spent to honor her. The valley includes six Yi villages which have long history and profound culture. It is noted for its traditional residences of the Yi minority-Earthen House, Girls Rooms (Boudoirs), traditional Yi costumes, ethnic customs of wedding and funeral ceremonies, Yi culinary arts, melodious Sanxian (a kind of three-stringed guitar) music, and  untrammeled or ebullient left-foot dance.
