Huafo Mountain
Located in
Mouding County of Chuxiong Prefecture, Huafo Mountain is one of the
famous Buddhist mountains in Central Yunnan. The first temple on the mountain
was Baiyunwo Temple built in 1577. In the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), 13
temples had been constructed with hundreds of monks. Thanks to its rich cultural
background and natural sceneries, Huafo Mountain was listed as a place of
interests of provincial level in 1993. The entire scenic area is composed of
Huafo Mountain itself, Qingfeng Reservoir and Tuanjiaba Orchard, with over 20
scenic sights.
