Mulao's Snatching Cakes

      Snatching cakes is the most joyous activity for the Mulao. Three people form a team, and three teams take turns to pick up pyramid-shaped cakes from a clay jar with long chopsticks. The three people in each team can only walk on three feet and have to keep jumping to balance themselves by holding hands and crossing their other legs together. If they are not careful, the cakes they have picked up from the jar will drop. During the contest, spectators cheer for them by shouting and beating drums until all the cakes have been picked out. The team with the most cakes is the winner and will be most blessed.
