“Beautiful China—2014 Year of Smart Travel” Theme Publicity and Promotion Activities Organized in Macao and Hong Kong

During April 9-13, CNTA Vice Chairman Du Jiang led a delegation from Chinese mainland to Macao and Hong Kong to organize theme publicity and promotion activities for “Beautiful China—2014 Year of Smart Travel”. A total of 22 tourism bureaus (committees) of Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Guangdong, Ningxia, Xinjiang and other provinces (autonomous regions) and over 160 tourism enterprises participated in the activities.

At the meeting, over 160 tourism enterprises from Chinese mainland communicated and talked face to face with responsible persons of travel agencies, social organizations and some middle and primary schools from Hong Kong and Macao, and achieved intent of cooperation in many aspects. The promotion activities have provided a platform for tourism enterprises from Chinese mainland, in particular, those from central and western China, to communicate face to face with travel agencies from Hong Kong and Macao, created a good opportunity to display the rich tourism resources and products of central and western China, enhanced mutual understanding and laid a foundation for further cooperation between all parties.
  
In his speech to the promotional meeting, Vice Chairman Du expressed that in recent years, Chinese mainland has developed a series of important strategies and measures to promote tourism development, and tourism occupies a more significant place and plays a more important role in the national economy. The Chinese mainland has always attached great importance to the marketing and publicity of tourism in Hong Kong and Macao. Taking this occasion, we hope to provide more latest tourism information to travel agencies from Hong Kong and Macao so as to deepen the communication and cooperation on tourism among the three parties and achieve common development and prosperity in tourism.

  
At the meeting, the China National Tourism Administration gave priority to the promotion of the Silk Road evolved in Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai and Xinjiang and the Xiamen-Shenzhen High-speed Railway in Fujian and Guangdong, which won wide acclaim from tourism industries in Hong Kong and Macao.

  
To coordinate the publicity activities and enhance the adoption of new media in promotion, the China National Tourism Administration has placed advertisements of the Silk Road, Xiamen-Shenzhen High-speed Railway and tourism images and products of 22 participators on Facebook, Yellow Pages HK, Yahoo Hong Kong and other websites, attracting great attention and winning wide acclaim from travel agencies and the public of Hong Kong and Macao.
