Guangdong International Tourism and Culture Festival

Contents: This tourism and culture festival adopts a synergistic model. Led by government it also incorporates market operators and encourages other enterprises, in combination with the involvement of tourism institutions, community organizations and individuals. The opening ceremony of the Guangdong International Tourism Festival and Pan-Pearl River Delta Recommendation Forum will be held in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province; while the closing ceremony will be in Zhongshan, with festival venues are set up in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou, Foshan, Shaoguan, Heyuan, Huizhou, Zhongshan, Zhanjiang, Zhaoqing, Qingyuan, Chaozhou, Jieyang and so on. Meizhou, Dongguan, Maoming and Yunfu will also host activities during this tourism and culture festival, with a much wider range of activity planned than in the two previous festivals. The Guangdong International Tourism and Culture Festival embodies the vision of “Active Guangdong, Happy and Peaceful”. In addition to the Opening Ceremony, Tourism Promotion Conference, Tourism Promotion and International Travel Exposition, Tourism Float and Decorated-boat Parade, Guangdong Tour of Overseas Chinese Celebrities, Sister Cities Gala Evening, Lingnan Folk Arts Joint Performance and other traditional quality activities, there are new aerial routes on display, a tourism fair, internet based coverage and activities, the Summit Forum of Tourism Development, and the F1 Powerboat World Championship Grand Prix of Shenzhen. Exhibits and presentations include those by the China Committee Press Centre and the Zhuhai “Capital for honeymoon, city for well-being” Wedding Festival, Chaozhou and Shantou Food Innovation Competition, Kungfu in Foshan- 2008 Foshan Martial Arts Festival, Shaoguan Zen Culture and Tourism Festival, Deqing Dragon Mother Thanksgiving and other distinctive and specialized projects. The contents will be much richer and more colorful than in the past and guests and visitors, on site or participating at a distance will be spoiled for choice.
