Daxueshan Mt. Scenic Area Of Yongde

Daxueshan Mountain (the Big Snow Mt.) scenic attraction is located in Yongde County, about 20 kilometers northeast from Linxiang District of Lincang Municipality. The Daxueshan Mountain is included into the mountains ranges of Biluo Snow Mountain and goes in a northwest-southeast way, 24 kilometers long and 16 kilometers wide, covering an area of approximately 300 square kilometers. In Lincang Municipality in Southwest Yunnan, Daxueshan Mt. has been an ideal destination for either sight-seeing or scientific inspections.    

The highest peak of Daxueshan Mt is 3,429 meters above the sea level; and other major peaks’ altitudes range from 3,177 to 1,813 meters above the sea level. The entire scenic area can be divided into Daxueshan Mt. Section, Tulin (earth forest) Section, Tanglishan Mt.-Guanyindong Mt. Section and Nanting River Tour Route, including about 90 scenic spots. Like many other mountain scenic attractions in Yunnan, Daxueshan Mt. exhibits a broad bio-diversity. It not only has attractive natural sights including rhododendrons, hot springs, varying cascades and clouds, grotesque earth forest, huge banyan trees, banana and sugarcane groves and other tropical sceneries, but also cultural sights such as Wa ethnic villages, cliff paintings and pagodas wrapped by overgrown banyan trees etc.
