Co-sponsored by Chengdu Municipal Administration of Tourism, Chengdu Culture Travel Group and Taiwan Lion Travel Group, the 2013 Chengdu Tourism Promotion Week themed on “Joyous Travel in Chengdu to Taste the Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability” kicked off at Chengdu Tourism (Taipei) Experience Center on the afternoon of July 23. Integrating the of concepts of living a healthy and sustainable life and low-carbon and environmental protection, this event showcased to Taiwan residents the featured scenic sports in Chengdu endowed with mountains, waters and fresh air, which are ideal for bike riding trip and physical and mental health. At the event, Zhuge Liang Memorial Hall and Dujiangyan—Qingcheng Mountain scenic spots attracted wide attention.
To further promote this event, the website “A Sip of Chengdu” in traditional Chinese dedicated a page to it, allowing Taiwan residents to have a glance at Chengdu via online games. During the one week period of this promotional event, those who book a tour to Chengdu will enjoy a discount of NT $2,000. Also during the event, in the presence of Chengdu Municipal Administration of Tourism, Chengdu Culture Travel Group and Taiwan Lion Travel Group signed a Memorandum of Cooperation regarding marketing and promotion in Taiwan. The two sides will make continuous efforts to build a sustained, stable and integrated marketing platform in Taiwan to attract more Taiwan residents to travel in Chengdu, based on Chengdu Tourism (Taipei) Experience Center. The platform offers all kinds of information and products in a wide network of physical stores, integrates all the outlets and sales channels of Taiwan Lion Travel Group, various media and a variety of resources of travel industry partners, therefore, stimulates the rapid growth of inbound tourism in Chengdu. At the same time, more efforts will be exerted to bring the online integration function of “A Sip of Chengdu” into full play, optimize the structure and content of the website, enhance interaction and publicity, launch online and offline promotional events, so as to build it into an important platform for Taiwan residents to obtain information concerning Chengdu tourism.
