Fengyu Ancient Town

Fengyu Ancient Town

Located in the southwest of Er’yuan County (Dali Prefecture),
Fengyu Ancient Town is one of the first approved famous historic
and cultural towns in Yunnan Province. Mr. Xu Xiake (1587-1641),
a renowned traveler and geologist of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644),
called it “Peach Blossom Valley”. Fengyu was an important station
of the Ancient Tea and Horse Road (Trail). The residential houses
of the Bai people scatter all over the town to present simplicity
and plainness. The slab-stone lanes, limpid streams, ancient residential
houses and ancient towers etc all add to the specific features of Fengyu
Ancient Town and are of high value for architectural and historical
 research.
