Qingdao - A City Of Beer The reputation of Qingdao is partly thanks to the Tsingtao beer. Tsingtao is an old spelling of the city on the Shandong Peninsula. It came down as the heritage of German culture that dominated this port city when it was occupied by German

armies about a century ago. The influence of German culture is also seen from a large number of architectures well preserved till today.
