The Reclining Buddha Temple In Baoshan

The Reclining Buddha Temple In Baoshan

This temple is located on Yunya Mountain, 15 kilometers north from
Baoshan Town. Built along a cave of Yunya Mountain, it is also named
Yunya Reclining Buddha Temple and is one of Baoshan’s eight famous
scenic spots as well as one of the oldest temples in Western Yunnan.
The hall of the temple is a natural stone cave. A 9-meter-long reclining
Buddha is chiseled out of a giant natural rock on 1.3-meter-height
stone platform. In 1988, Myanmar-Chinese Buddhists presented a white
marble statue of the reclining Buddha, which is 6 meters long and 9
tons in weight and becomes the biggest of its kind all over China.
