“Beijing and Me”

1. Activity Theme
This contest is for the foreign friends hailing from all around the world who reside in or love Beijing. In your eyes what are Beijing’s most beautiful views and attractions? What are the most touching and heart rending Beijing moments that you have immortalized in photographs? Use your own camera to record all of this and share your wonderful photos with those who love Beijing as much as you do.

2. Activity Scheme:
One. Photographic work subject matter
a. Images depicting traditional folk culture and Beijing’s rich traditional culture.
b. Images of Beijing’s cultural relics, famous attractions and areas of natural beauty throughout the seasons.
c. Images of landmarks and featured commercial streets in the center of Beijing, or Beijing’s modernized transportation, living facilities etc.
d. The richly colorful lives of foreign nationals in Beijing.

c. The files should be 10mb in size or less. Each work should be attached with a caption of about 200 words (language not limited). Entry photos are not permitted to have been subject to post-processing techniques, but adjustments of color, tone, brightness and contrast are allowed. We will decline the submission of computer generated works.
d. Color or black and white photos are all accepted; single or sets of photos (5 photos within each set) are all accepted.
e. Works received for this contest shall not be returned.

Four. Evaluation
All works which meet the standards of the contest will be assessed by visitbeijing.com.cn’s professional judges. An expert panel of judges will evaluate the submitted photos. 20 excellent photos will be selected during the initial evaluation, and they will be published on english.visitbeijing.com.cn from December 16 to 31. Site users will then join us and select the first, second and third place awards. After the evaluation process, the names of the prize-winners will be published on all foreign language editions of VisitBeijing.com.cn, and we will inform the prize-winners in person.
Five. Our Awards
First Prize: 1 contributor, 600 RMB worth of prizes for each contributor;
Second Prize: 2 contributors, 200 RMB worth of prizes for each contributor;
Third Prize: 3 contributors, 100 RMB worth of prizes for each contributor;
Prize for Excellence: 14 contributors, an exquisite gift from VisitBeijing.com.cn for each contributor.

3. Information for Participants
One.
Participants agree that the organizer has the right to use all of the awarded works, and the rights to use them for the purpose of display during exhibitions, shows and for other purposes.
Two.
Participants accept that all submitted works may be exhibited online. Upon submission of images participants agree that the organizer or the relevant third parties have the right to use competition works (copyright remains the property of the author). No form of royalties shall be paid to the photographer by the organizer or associated bodies.
Three.
The participant guarantees that the works submitted to the contest were created independently by the participants themselves, and that the works in the contest shall not violate others’ rights and interests, including portraits, damage to reputation, loss of privacy and infringement of copyright, trademark and other rights. In the event of legal action being taken in response to infringements of the aforementioned rights, the author of the work assumes sole legal responsibility and that the organizer has no liability.
Four.
Entrants agree that the contest organizers have the final interpretation of the activity’s rules. Upon contributing, contestants are deemed to be in agreement with and expected to comply with the above provisions. Entries which fall short of requirements as stipulated in the aforementioned terms will be disqualified immediately.
